As you are likely aware, police forces across the country wear khaki-colored uniforms. However, the Kolkata Police is an exception to this rule, as its officers wear white uniforms rather than khaki. A police force is established in every state to safeguard the public's interests. In our country, police personnel in all states, except the Kolkata Police, wear khaki uniforms. The police force in India was originally established by the British. At that time, they designated white as the colour for police uniforms. Police work is physically demanding, and a practical issue associated with white uniforms was that they would get soiled very quickly. Consequently, the colour of the police uniform was later changed to khaki. The Kolkata Police, however, refused to adopt this revised uniform. The reason for this refusal was, in fact, linked to the local climate. The city of Kolkata is situated along the coast. As a result, the weather here remains hot and humid year-round. Under such conditions, white uniforms are the most suitable choice for the police force, as they help minimise the sensation of heat. To ensure that Kolkata Police personnel do not suffer from excessive heat, the decision was made to retain white as the uniform colour.
Observing the circus currently unfolding within the Lucknow Police Commissionerate, the police headquarters of Uttar Pradesh’s capital, one is led to believe that the 'Khaki' uniform is no longer merely a standard uniform, but has transformed into a lavish 'business suit.' A constable, Sunil Shukla, has dropped a bombshell right within the police department itself, a revelation that has completely shattered the department's peace. In a video he recorded, he is seen shouting at the top of his lungs, asserting that his department is being run by 'Black Englishmen.' The very police force that claims to deliver justice to the world now finds one of its own constables accusing his own superiors of corruption while begging the Chief Minister for justice. He claims that to secure a duty posting at the Lucknow Reserve Police Line, every constable must pay a monthly bribe of ₹2,000. In other words: pay money just to be allowed to do your job! This is what one might call the 'Pay-for-Work' model. The constable alleges that this extortion racket operates much like a full-fledged Zamindari, in which money flows from the bottom to the top, right into the pockets of high-ranking IPS officers. Bravo! What magnificent teamwork! While catching criminals might take its own sweet time, the extortion network, it seems, is operating at the blistering speed..
Ramesh: Rapido? Vikram: Yes, Sir. Captain Vikram reporting; please provide your OTP and sit back. Ramesh: Vikram! May I ask you something? Vikram: Yes, Sir. Ramesh: You seem quite professional, you speak excellent English, too, so why do you drive a Rapido? Vikram: Passion, Sir, pure passion! I always aspired to be an airline pilot. However, when I realised that becoming a Captain of an aircraft would require an investment of 70 lakh rupees, I came to a realisation: a Captain is a Captain, whether he is navigating an aeroplane through the skies or driving a Rapido on the ground. Ramesh: That is a valid point. Vikram: Absolutely, Sir. I feel that this country needs Rapido Captains just as much as it needs Airline Captains. After all, while an Airline Captain cuts through the skies to turn a journey of hours into mere minutes, if anyone can navigate through the city traffic to get you to the airport, transforming a potentially hour-long commute into just a few minutes, it is none other than a Rapido Captain. Since that moment, Vikram's words have continued to echo in my ears.
Today, individuals like Neha Singh Rathore, Swara Bhasker, and Ravish Kumar spew venom day and night against India and against Hindus. They are incredibly fortunate that India today possesses a robust democracy; otherwise, one need only search on Google to see the fate that befell the renowned South Indian actress Snehalata Reddy during the era of Indira Gandhi. Indira Gandhi had imposed the Emergency. Snehalata Reddy opposed this through a theatrical performance. Immediately, without any formal charges or a charge sheet, she was imprisoned in Bengaluru Central Jail, where she was held for 8.5 months without a single accusation levelled against her. The media was fed a narrative claiming that dynamite had been recovered from her home and that she was conspiring to orchestrate terrorist plots within the country. Yet, it was never disclosed when or how this dynamite was supposedly found, nor was its current whereabouts ever revealed. Snehalata Reddy suffered from chronic asthma. While in prison, she was denied permission to take her medication. On three separate occasions, she suffered such severe asthmatic attacks that she slipped into a coma. Her lungs became severely infected. She meticulously documented the atrocities inflicted upon her in her personal diary. She wrote that whenever a female prisoner arrived at the jail, her ordeal would begin with being stripped naked and beaten, followed by sexual assault. Thus, consider how incredibly fortunate those individuals are today, the "street performers," "bar dancers," and "entertainers", who spend their days and nights on Twitter and social media platforms, spewing venom against India and Hindu.
Pakistan provided refuge to Iranian military aircraft at its airbases during the conflict between the U.S. and Iran. Citing U.S. officials, the report stated that a few days after a ceasefire was declared in April, Iran dispatched several aircraft to the Pakistan Air Force's Nur Khan Airbase. The aircraft sent included an Iranian Air Force RC-130. This aircraft is the intelligence and surveillance variant of the Lockheed C-130 Hercules transport aircraft. For its part, Pakistan has also acknowledged that these aircraft arrived at its airbases. Issuing a statement, Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Iranian aircraft present in Pakistan had arrived during the ceasefire period and had no connection whatsoever to any military operations.
He is Jimmy Tata. Jimmy Tata is Ratan Tata's younger brother. Both were the sons of Naval Tata. Ratan Tata was just 10 years old when his parents divorced. Subsequently, both brothers were raised by their grandmother, Navajbai Tata, in Mumbai. Jimmy Tata holds significant stakes in Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Tata Sons, TCS, Tata Power, Indian Hotels, and Tata Chemicals. Following the passing of his father, Naval Tata, in 1989, he was appointed as a trustee of the Sir Ratan Tata Trust. However, his life has always remained remarkably simple. He resides in a modest two-bedroom apartment on the sixth floor of Hampton Court in Colaba, Mumbai. He does not even own a mobile phone; instead, he keeps abreast of the news by reading books and newspapers. He never married and has no children. He worked in the Tata textile business for a time before retiring from Tata Sons in the 1990s. Yet, his silence did not imply insignificance. During the Cyrus Mistry controversy, when the *Times of India* reached out to him, he handed the reporter six voluminous files and stated, "Everything you need to know about me, and my opinions, is right here." Contained within those files were letters he had written over the years to trustees and board members, in which he had articulated his views on major decisions. In 2022, Harsh Goenka, Chairman of RPG Enterprises, wrote that Jimmy Tata leads an extremely simple life and is a brilliant squash player, one who would defeat him every single time. In 2023, Ratan Tata shared a vintage photograph of the two brothers from 1945. He captioned it: "Those were truly happy days. Nothing ever came between us." On October 9, 2024, following Ratan Tata's passing, Jimmy Tata arrived in a wheelchair at the NCPA Lawns in Mumbai to pay his final respects. Jimmy Tata was also named as a beneficiary in Ratan Tata's will.

This is a scene from Bengal, where the statue of Siraj-ud-Daulah was allegedly vandalised, and a poster of Shivaji Maharaj was waved. There is constant discussion regarding the incidents of tension and violence that have erupted in Bengal following the elections. Since 1204, Bengal has witnessed a continuous succession of different regimes: the Sultanate, the Mughals, the British, the Congress, the Left Front, and finally, the Trinamool. Consequently, a sense of political and cultural discontent has simmered within certain sections of society for a considerable period. The campaign in Bengal, led by the Maratha commander Raghoji Bhosale during the 1740s, also remains part of history, though it ultimately failed to translate into permanent control over the region. The Jana Sangh was founded in 1952, and Bengal served as one of its early political strongholds. However, in subsequent years, the Left Front and later the Trinamool maintained a prolonged and dominant influence over the state's political landscape. The shift currently unfolding is being perceived by some not merely as a "change in political power," but rather as a profound "mental and cultural transformation." While violence is unequivocally wrong in any form, it remains an undeniable truth that prolonged periods of suppression, polarisation, and political conflict inevitably trigger deep-seated reactions within society.

73 years ago, the Somnath Temple was inaugurated in a grand ceremony by India's first president, Rajendra Prasad Ji In a letter to Rajendra Prasad in March 1951, Jawaharlal Nehru wrote, “I confess that I do not like the idea of your associating yourself with a spectacular opening of the Somnath Temple. This is not merely visiting a temple." Prasad said that he saw nothing wrong in attending the event. A month later, Nehru wrote to him again, "My dear Rajendra Babu, I am greatly worried about the Somnath affair." Somnath is the holy place of the First Aadi Jyotirling Shree Somnath Mahadev and the sacred soil where Lord Shri Krishna took his last journey. The Somnath is located at Triveni Sangam, which is the confluence of 3 sacred rivers - Saraswati, Hiranya and Kapila with the sea. The Somnath temple faced several attacks from Muslim raiders, most disastrous by Mahmud of Ghazni in 1026 CE. Aurangzeb gave orders for its destruction. He issued an order for its destruction and its conversion into a mosque in 1706, just before he died. In 1782, Maratha queen Ahalyabai Holkar built a small temple at the Somnath temple site. After Independence, Vallabhbhai Patel visited Junagadh and announced the decision to reconstruct Somnath.
The year was 2004. Sundar Pichai, an Indian-born professional, was living in the United States and working at Alphabet (Googleis parent company). A friend of Sundar’s invited him and his family over for dinner at his home. Sundar Pichai intended to head directly from his office to his friend's house for the dinner, so he asked his wife, Anjali, to do the same. Anjali arrived at their friend's house in her car at exactly 8:00 PM. Sundar Pichai, too, left his office on time, but he lost his friend's house. Somehow, he finally reached the house two hours late, around 10:00 PM. By the time Sundar Pichai arrived, Anjali had already finished dinner and left for home. Consequently, Sundar Pichai also left without eating anything. Upon reaching home, he had an argument with Anjali over his failure to arrive for dinner on time, which left him so foul-tempered that he turned around and headed back to his office that very night. Pichai spent the entire night at the office. During that time, he kept pondering how he could have possibly lost his way. He thought that if he could lose his way, countless other people must be getting lost just as often every day. He felt there ought to be a solution, something that would prevent people from getting lost and ensure they reached their intended destinations on time. Amid these thoughts, a realisation struck him: what if he had access to a map that showed him the correct route? As soon as morning broke, Sundar Pichai convened a meeting with his entire team and presented his idea for creating a digital map. However, the moment Pichai’s team heard the concept, they gave a resounding "no." Everyone insisted that such a feat was simply impossible. The team lacked any faith in his idea. Nevertheless, Sundar Pichai refused to give up; he continued holding meetings over the next few days. Eventually, a consensus was reached to design a product that would guide people to their destinations. Subsequently, Sundar Pichai, Hasbro, and their team dedicated themselves earnestly to this new project for several months. After much hard work, Google Maps was finally created and launched, first in the United States in 2005. Subsequently, it was launched in Britain in 2006 and in India in 2008.
