Obviously people are turning to AI for answers now but 1) surely the training data is also outdated? most of these issues are old, incomplete etc.. 2) people are now blindly trusting AI solutions, no sanity checks, no peer review etc..
I was trying to solve this api issue but it seemed like we all collectively decided to not reach out for help since 2022.
Does no one need help anymore coding?? @DevSimplified mentioned this in a recent video, but it seems like all coding tutorials have ceased. However i've also noticed that a lot of help threads on reddit, github, etc.. are all 3+ years old
Surely LLM code bloat is a feature not a bug?
Low stakes conspiracy. LLMs slowly slopifies your codebase overtime so that eventually only it understands it and you're forced to lean on it more and more.
Failure becomes self fulfilling prophecy.
Regardless of what you think about these technologies, the narrative never changes and it creates massive investment cycles every time. In the long run though, constant overpromising slows real adoption. Trust erodes. Capital dries up. The actual innovation gets buried under hype

Does anyone know how to get LLMs to start REMOVE code. It seems like if they have a wrong starting point they'll add code to 'fix' (circumvent) the problem when instead they could have just removed the problematic sections.
Alas we are forced to keep up this dance until someone with enough authority finally says the quiet part out loud and we can finally put and end to the LLM this psychosis chapter.
I wish there was as secret passphrase you could use where both you and your colleagues can drop the facade of pretending LLM's are god's gift to software engineering and can speak honestly about their pros and cons.
Never sure what to answer about my LLM usage in a professional context. Either you say you're against at and don't use that much and risk being seen as antiquated and stuck in their ways.
The best engineer you know has people reviewing his code. But we are 6-12 months this away from never having to review a coding slot machine.
How do i keep the assisted in AI ASSISTED coding. Where do you draw the line?
Maybe its just me. But would love to know if anyone has / solved this issue? Its like trying to eat one chip when on a diet. Before you know it you've had the whole bag and gave up on dieting.
The project looses focuses, then you end up giving up entirely as you felt like your nice little side project has been swallowed by the model?
Anyone else feel like theres always a tipping point when using LLMs to code?
