@IP_Trading I get that it's different for everyone. I tend to follow the data, but I'm also well aware of the 30sec ORB for $NQ. Currently, I live on the 5min chart. Data I'm referring to... x.com/i/status/20605…
and we tested it at 3 ORB lengths to double check everything: 5-min: 97.6% bull, 97.4% bear 15-min: 96.9% / 98.0% 30-min: 97.3% / 98.2% ask yourself - how would you ever have done this type of analysis by hand?
Having this conversation elsewhere... which trader are you? Wait on confirmation = smaller size, wider stop, safer entry, higher win rate, lower R:R. Anticipate the move = larger size, tighter stop, riskier entry, lower win rate, higher R:R. Somewhere in between? 🤔

@dmactrades @danshep55 I like it. Good stuff! Sounds similar to my approach. Key for me is liquidity. I can be aggressive and anticipate right up until my liquidity target is swept. At that point, I need to pause and wait.

@wp_finance Do I think new futures traders should start with this style? No. Do I think with experience they should be aiming for this type approach? Absolutely. Confirmation = smaller size, wider stop, safer entry. Anticipation = larger size, tighter stop, riskier entry. Hope that helps.
@wp_finance Starting to apply the same with $ES. Here's the info on that one. Basically, same as $NQ. All starts with the 5min... and my stops are much tighter because the range is so much smaller compared to waiting on the 30min ORB or IB break. x.com/edgeful/status…

$NQ 15min ORB confirms and just missed the 50% extension tag. Tightening up stops as very oversold short term. NYSE breadth as ugly as one might expect with $VIX back above 16 and climbing.
