It was obvious to anyone who watched the video that he was in physical distress. British police officers have a duty to take reasonable steps to preserve life and obtain medical assistance when someone is injured or in medical distress. We know he wasn’t cuffed at the scene unlike Henry according to his father. I dgaf what the murderer is feeling.

@d_billaba Henry told them he had been stabbed. He said he couldn’t breathe. He was obviously wounded and in physical distress. The fact is that he was handcuffed and died at the officers feet while the murderer was never handcuffed at the scene.

I’ve been enjoying the videos of people visiting the recently restored parks and fountains in Washington DC. People reacting with genuine joy, some of them saying they’ve lived there for years and never once seen these fountains running. What strikes me as I watch is that there’s no political commentary. It’s just human beings responding to something good. It makes me think about something most of us already understand in our own lives. We’re happier when our home is clean. We think more clearly when our room is in order. We feel better when our surroundings are cared for. Order doesn’t fix everything, but it makes life more pleasant, less stressful, easier to live well in. So why would a city be any different? Beauty, order, and cleanliness affect how we feel, how we act, how we treat each other. When public spaces are kept up, families use them, children play in them, neighbors run into each other and talk. A well kept space quietly invites people to take pride in their community and in themselves. In a time when so many families are squeezed by inflation, housing costs, insurance premiums, and a hundred other pressures, it’s easy to say a government shouldn’t be spending money on parks and fountains. I get it, but flourishing matters too. People are shaped by their environment. Change how people feel about a place, and you can change how they treat it. Change how enough people treat it, and you can change a community and sometimes that begins with something as simple as water flowing from a fountain again.
