If you suspected someone was a victim of modern slavery, would you know what to do?
In the UK, victims may be found in a range of industries, including the drug trade, sex work, car washes, nail salons, private homes and even within social care.
Modern slavery cases in the UK reached a record high in 2024, with 19,125 referrals, including 31% involving children. The true number of victims is estimated at 130,000. #Modernslavery is driven by poverty, conflict & migration. Learn more: tinyurl.com/2w4h3rjk
Supply chain transparency is critical to tackling forced labour. #Modernslavery exists in global supply chains, and the Modern Slavery Act 2015 mandates UK businesses to publish TISC statements. Companies must go beyond engagement and ensure real change. #TheAntiSlaveryCollective

The NRM offers a vital lifeline, but awareness is key. Too many victims remain in the shadows. By understanding how this system works, we can help bring them to safety.
Conclusive Grounds Decision: After further investigation, a final decision is made. If positive, victims may receive ongoing support and even discretionary leave to remain in the UK if needed for their recovery or to assist with law enforcement efforts.
What is the National Referral Mechanism? The NRM helps identify & support victims of modern slavery, forced labour, trafficking & exploitation. Yet, many remain unseen. In 2022, 16,000+ referrals were made, but countless victims slipped through the cracks. Awareness saves lives!
