Yesterday was my best friend’s birthday. Here’s the text I sent him. His response was my favorite part. (Written with zero AI) 👇 A rock. Flying through emptiness 100,000 miles an hour around a ball of nuclear fission exploding and collapsing in on itself for the last 4 billion years. It’s spun 34 times since a tiny delicate action figure was shot through a portal into this dimension of light and sound. His soul decided to incarnate into an interesting story. One with loss, laughter, love, misfortune, connection, responsibility, and experiences. It called him to fly around the rock and see environments and history this rock has to offer. Eat the food, the entheogen, and wisdom this dimension has to enjoy. Expand his perception to see the edges of how God wants to experience itself through these particle eyes. And feel the weight, love, and connect of his tribe turning to him for comfort, direction, and wisdom. There’s an unknown number of circles this rock will make until his meat suit melts back into the soil. But before it does, there are more stories to live, struggles to triumph, and seeds to plant that will grow into trees he may never sit in the shade of. But the feral hippy child who’s writing this to him feels indescribably blessed to have crossed paths and taken up arms to travel this dimension together. To help build our own little piece of this rock, and this story, together. To laugh to tears at the absurdity. And to pass the time until we eventually walk home. Happy Birthday Guruby. At 21 I became an electrician. At 32 I became a writer. Millions of people have read my words since. The gap between those sentences is the whole story. I was born into a cult. Homeschooled. At 15 years old I tested at a third-grade spelling level. I had every reason to believe writing wasn't for me. So I became an electrician. I was good at it. I worked hard. 40 hours a week, sometimes 70+ I told myself this was my life and I was fine with it. But there was something I couldn't shake. Since I was 12 years old, reading J.R.R Tolkien for the first time, I knew I wanted to write. Not as a hobby. Not as a side thing. As THE thing. It was my WHY. My calling. My purpose. I just kept talking myself out of it. Too busy. Not educated enough. Who was I to think I had something worth saying. So I kept wiring buildings and burying the thing my soul kept asking me to do. Until I hit a breaking point. On January 1st, 2022, I finally stopped arguing with myself. I made one decision" I was going to write every single day. No exceptions. No excuses. Not for an audience. Not for money. But for my two daughters. To leave something behind for them in case my time ran out before I was ready. I woke up at 4am every morning before my workday started and I wrote for one hour. And I've done that for over a thousand days. Personally: 200+ articles. 300,000+ words. A complete manuscript. Professionally: A ghostwriting career. Working with incredible people. Words in front of millions of readers. None of it happened because I was the most talented writer. I'm not. But it happened because I finally stopped letting my starting point decide my ending point. You don't need the degree. You don't need the perfect background. You don't need to have figured it all out before you start. You just need to start. What's the one thing you've been talking yourself out of?

@m13v_ Yeah man. Watching AI try to do a formulate post about something so Personal it’s pretty cringe.

Just spent 2 days in Dallas Texas for a video shoot with a client. He’s an incredible guys with an insane story. We stayed up till 1AM telling stories and laughing to tears by the fireplace on his front porch. The deeper I get into the personal brand business the more I see… The most valuable skill is your ability to be person people like to be around. Talk with. Laugh with. Tell stories to. Basically, create the environment where they can beat themselves, and then really see the person behind it. That’s half the skill. The other half is translating that to the rest of the world. It sounds too simple to be true but… If you want to build amazing personal brands, you just need to be a personal person. The world is starving for authenticity. Your ability to connect with another human… See them for who they really are… And reflected back to them… Is actually becoming a rare valuable skill. I never could’ve imagined there was a way to make a living from that. But that’s the life I find myself and now. If you’re trying to make money as a ghostwriter here’s my stupid simple check list: ✅ listen to people ✅ Find what’s interesting about them ✅ Put in the work to learn how to translate that to the rest of the world

It’s depends on the post. I’ve written some deeply personal post for clients. Posts about death of love ones, suicide, cancer diagnosis, divorce, deep insecurities. Ultimately my jobs to translate their story and voice into content that serves to build their brand in the way that will serve them best. But some clients brand is to serve others as best they can, often the best way to do that is with the true story.

A good view always widens my perspective. When I’m too close to my struggles, they seem to suffocate me. Like I have no escape. But the moment I rise above them, so many solutions become clear. And the best way to zoom out is to remember this… I’m going to die. And I don’t know when it’s going to be. But I pretend like I have forever to get around to being at peace again. 👉 All my seeming problems that are stealing my ability to be happy and present. 👉 All the important conversations I know I need to have and things I should do. Are lies I tell myself to justify my inability to BE here and NOW. Here’s the hardest truth. If I were to pass away today, all my worldly problems would disappear. Some of them would become other people’s problems. But what I would also lose is the ability to be with the people I love and experience everything this brief, beautiful human life has to offer. When I zoom out to the end of my lifetime, I see that every situation I find myself in is truly a gift. And so are you 👉 reading this right now, still here, still capable of choosing presence, love, gratitude. Don’t wait for the view from the end to appreciate where you are today.
