So neither full DDPM 1k step sampling nor DDIM 50 step produced any meaningful results other than gray scribbles.
So I decided to use vanilla ε-prediction diffusion (DDPM) instead of one-shot GAN that's been the backbone of face2comics. Long story short, 2k train steps didn't yield any meaningful results, even though train samples looked promising.
Whoops, after looking it up, the first ds was just 256 image pairs of 512x512px. Simple @fastdotai inspired unet (pretrained resnet encoder, bottleneck self-attention), looked like that Dataset and @ComfyUI wf are her for free ofc: patreon.com/posts/nanowarp…

The first lazy-ass dataset was 1k 256px pairs generated via @bfl_ml flux 2 klein 4b edit (source was also generated). Even though it had a lot of anatomical artifacts, we're not body-shaming. Though even with explicit prompt to keep gender and ethnicity, it got biased :D
