@RonaldChenMD @evicorehc Nobody said @evicorehc was logical or consistent in their reasons for denial. My patient fit nicely into NCCN guidelines and I pointed out exactly where in the document and it was denied.

That would have required reading and revising our procedures. We are approving 100% of blood letting requests this month!

@generalorthomd @BCBSAssociation Had an Evicore nonsurgeon tell me that my patient needed to do PT for their end-stage glenohumeral arthritis. When I asked what the AAOS consensus statement said about that, I got crickets. (The answer is no evidence in favor).
Counterpoint: we can just treat everything as unnecessary. Makes our job easier.

@generalorthomd @BCBSAssociation I had to do a peer to peer with evicore for a possible uni possible TKA. It was denied and a call was required to get me to choose one (but if I did the other it would “probably” be retroactively approved)
