They run without any security and institutions take additional batches in the basement area to earn more if space is not available in the building. In old Rajendra Nagar yesterday, bodies of 3 students were recovered and many students were injured due to rainwater in the basement. Last year, a coaching centre in Mukherjee Nagar caught fire due to sparking in wires and hundreds of students were in the batch, due to which the exit of the class was blocked and due to panic and suffocation some students jumped from the building and got injured. It is a matter of concern that even after charging lakhs of rupees as fees, the centres are unable to provide safety gear and quality education. Apart from the lack of safety of students, another concern students are facing is the financial burden due to high rent of rooms. Land owners connive with brokers to earn more money from students. The single room rent for students in Delhi is as follows - Old Rajinder Nagar - 12K-23K Kamla Nagar - 16K-25K Vijayanagar - 10K-20K Mukherjee Nagar - 8K-15K Laxmi Nagar - 9K-15K The government needs to curb illegal construction of coaching centers and the additional batches running in them.
